From his final sermon to a heartfelt retirement dinner filled with memories, laughter, tears, popcorn, Kool-Aid, and stories shared by generations of church family, this was a beautiful weekend honoring a remarkable legacy of faith, leadership, and service.

There are some folks you meet and within minutes, you just know… they’re your people. That’s exactly how it felt with Cass and Chris. From the very first phone call, Cass was kind, thoughtful, and completely intentional. I could hear in her voice that she wasn’t just planning a wedding—she was building a story, and she wanted me to help tell it. She’d seen my work at Lucky Spur Ranch and made it clear—she wasn’t settling for anyone else. And y’all… when someone fights for you to be part of something that sacred, it stays with you.

We planned their engagement session in Old Town Lewisville—my heart place, full of charm and history—and watching the way these two moved through it together just made it shine even brighter. They’re the kind of couple who feel like home to each other. Calm. Certain. Joyful. The way they laugh together is easy, but the way they look at each other? That’s something deeper.

Since they both live in the fitness world, we mixed in a little playfulness (including a water pistol fight at sunset, because why not?)—but in between the laughter, I kept catching these quiet moments. Moments where Chris would look at Cass like nothing else in the world existed. Like he couldn’t believe he gets to call her his.

They’re saying “I do” this September at Lucky Spur Ranch, and honestly, I can’t imagine a better place for a love like this to begin its next chapter. Southern hospitality, wide open skies, and a kind of love that feels like it was written in the stars.
